September 11th, 2001 I was living in New York, and I'll never forget
that day. For a while I hesitated before starting to write this
novel, and in the end I didn't finish it, afraid of what the reaction
might be if it were published. But nine years have passed since that
awful event, so now I'm prepared to risk criticism on the grounds of
bad taste, which I didn't want to in the immediate aftermath of the
attack. If I receive a positive response, I'll finish the book.
